Safe Recruitment

Pause. Check.
Move forward safely.

An overseas opportunity should come with clear information. Verify the people, the offer and the process before sending money or personal documents.

Check who is contacting you

If someone claims to represent FM Associates, verify that claim through the contact details published on this website. Obtain the person’s name, role and the opportunity reference, then contact our team independently. A logo, social media account, business card or messaging profile is not proof of authorisation.

Check the agency’s licence details separately from the offer. An authentic agency name can be copied into an unauthorised advertisement or payment request.

Review the offer before committing

Request written details of the employer, destination, job title, work location, salary, working hours, benefits, deductions and contract duration. Ask what stage the recruitment has reached and which approvals still need to be completed.

Compare the written terms with the advertisement and any messages you received. If the role, pay or destination changes, ask for an explanation before accepting revised terms. Do not sign a blank document or a document you cannot understand.

Recognise warning signs

Pause and verify an approach if important details are missing or you are pressured to act before you can check them. These signs call for further checks; they do not establish, on their own, that a particular person has committed fraud.

  • Promises of a guaranteed job, visa or departure without the required checks.
  • Pressure to pay immediately or keep the arrangement secret.
  • Requests to transfer money to an unverified account or intermediary.
  • Refusal to provide written job terms, a cost explanation or a receipt.
  • Links to unfamiliar websites asking for banking credentials or verification codes.

Protect documents and report concerns

Share identity and employment documents only after confirming the recipient and why the documents are needed. Ask how they should be submitted and handled. Avoid posting passport copies, identity numbers or financial records publicly.

If you receive a suspicious approach, stop further payments or document sharing, save the messages and transaction references, and contact FM Associates through this website. Include the claimed representative’s name, the advertised role, the contact channel and a brief account of what happened. Ask for a secure way to provide any sensitive supporting documents.

If money has already been transferred, contact your payment provider promptly to ask what options are available. You may also raise the matter with the relevant authority. A report to FM Associates does not replace reporting a suspected offence to the responsible authority.
